No dia 11/08/15 à noite estávamos saindo de um restaurante em Worcester (perto de Boston), quando um carro parou e o motorista elogiou o Godzilla. Era o Peter Janney, também conhecido como Baby Spice, um apaixonado de segunda geração por Defenders, proprietário de um excelente Defender 200 Tdi, e mecânico responsável por restaurações na oficina J.White’s Automotive (http://www.jwhitesautomotive.com) em Framingham.

O Peter nos contou que sua namorada viu o Godzilla estacionado na porta do restaurante e ligou para ele vir correndo ver o carro, e ficamos muito contentes pois saímos no exato momento que ele chegou. Ficamos um tempo batendo papo no estacionamento e combinamos que no dia seguinte passaríamos na oficina antes de seguir nosso caminho até Salem.

Na manhã seguinte passamos na J.White’s Automotive onde conhecemos os seus proprietários, Jeff e Shirley, e toda a equipe da oficina. Acho que essa manhã não foi muito produtiva para eles, pois quando chegamos distraímos todo mundo com o Godzilla e as histórias da nossa viagem.

Tomamos um café, fizemos um tour pela oficina com a Shirley e tiramos uma foto com todos da oficina. Ficamos impressionados com a quantidade de Defenders e outros carros menos importantes, como uns Toyotas, que estavam no pátio da oficina aguardando a sua vez para receber os cuidados da equipe da J.White’s; bem que gostaríamos de dar um trato no Godzilla e deixá-lo novinho, mas acho que isso só vai acontecer no Brasil mesmo.

Last 08/11/15 we were leaving a restaurant in Worcester (close to Boston) when a car stopped and the driver congratulated us for the Godzilla. It was Peter Janne, a.k.a. Baby Spice, a second generation Defender lover, owner of an excellent 200 Tdi and mechanic responsible for restorations at J.White’s Automotive (http://www.jwhitesautomotive.com) located in Framingham.

Peter told us that his girlfriend saw the Godzilla parked in front of the restaurant and called him to rush there to check the rig and fortunately we left the restaurant in the exact moment that he arrived. We talked for a while and agreed to meet again in the next morning in the shop that was on the way to Salem.

Next morning we stopped by J.White’s Automotive where we met the owners, Jeff and Shirley, and the great staff of the shop. We believe that this morning was not productive for the shop because we distracted everyone with the Godzilla and our adventure through the Americas.

We had a great coffee, toured the shop with Shirley and took a picture with everyone. We were really impressed with the number of Defenders and other less relevant cars such as Toyotas, that were siting in the patio waiting for its turn to be taken care by the talented team of J.White’s. We would love to do the same with the Godzilla, but I guess it will have to wait until we return to Brazil.
