No dia 12/01/15, no Santuário Las Lajas em Ipiales – Colômbia, conhecemos o casal Martin McGowan e Nicole Cardozo do My Overland Adventure (http://myoverlandadventure.com). Nós já estávamos em contato com eles há algum tempo, mas nosso encontro no Santuário foi totalmente por acaso.

Eles deixaram sua casa no Reino Unido há 4 anos e meio a bordo de um Toyota Land Cruiser 1998 com a direção do lado direito. A Nicole tem um papel fundamental na estrada, já que o Martin não tem visão para ultrapassar os carros na estrada. O volante do “lado errado” também gera algumas situações engraçadas, como o policial pedindo os documentos do carro e habilitação para a Nicole e não para o motorista Martin.

Além da sua aventura, o Martin e a Nicole ainda mantém um site para overlanders (http://overlandsphere.com). Trata-se de uma comunidade de pessoas que já viajaram, estão viajando ou irão viajar pelos 4 cantos do planeta. Nessa comunidade, o Martin desempenha um papel muito legal, ajudando outros viajantes.

Nós ficamos muito contentes em conhecê-los pessoalmente.

On 01/12/15 at the Sanctuary Las Lajas in Ipiales – Colombia we have met the couple Martin McGowan and Nicole Cardozo from My Overland Adventure (http://myoverlandadventure.com). We were already in contact with them, but our meeting at the Sanctuary was a total coincidence.

They have left their home in UK four and half years ago on a Toyota Land Cruiser 1998 with the steering wheel on the right side. Nicole has a fundamental role on the road since Martin is not able to see the coming traffic on overtakes. The steering wheel on the “wrong side” also causes funny situations like the police asking the documents of the vehicle and driver’s license to Nicole and not to the driver Martin.

In addition to its adventure, Martin and Nicole also maintain a website for overlanders (http://overlandsphere.com). It works as a community for people who have, are or will travel through the globe. In this community Martin has a nice role assisting other travelers.
